Kim Burkhardt
Kim Burkhardt writing

Kim Burkhardt is actively involved in parish-level faith communities in various capacities – with a particular interest in contemplative prayer, adult faith formation (religious education), and faith healing (for example, Ms. Burkhardt does RCIA (OCIA) at Seattle-area Catholic parishes).

In addition to being Catholic parish catechist, Kim Burkhardt founded this space – A Parish Catechist – to support the broader public with adult religious education and spiritual accompaniment.

Ms. Burkhardt has a diocesan catechetical certificate and is completing faith formation training through the Catechetical Institute of Franciscan University (Steubenville) (aka Franciscan at Home). A Parish Catechist is also a “Content Creator/Individual (i.e., “Catholic Blogger”) member of the Association of Catholic Publishers and is active in Contemplative Outreach Northwest. Ms. Burkhardt’s earlier education includes social services/communications-related and business degrees (bachelor’s and master’s).

Who doesn’t enjoy good company? We are also fortunate to have Barry the Barred Owl (#BarryTheOwl) and George the Gargoyle (#GeorgeTheGargoyle) to bring some joy to faith journey explorations at A Parish Catechist (their photos are shown to the right). Barry came to us from Ravenna Ravine (Seattle), while George came to us from the bookstore at the U.S. National Cathedral (Washington, D.C.).
